Post Wow! EQ'ing makes a big difference!
I've been frustrated with the sound of my Sticks. The higher-pitched strings sounding thin, and some of the lower-pitched string were a little "boomy."

I found an excellent EQ app that includes a frequency analyzer so I can easily zero in on those freqs that need to be pulled back a little or boosted.

Makes a HUGE difference!! All of the melody strings are now singing through nicely and not getting overpowered by the bass strings, and the bass is no longer sounding thin and anemic as I move to the thinner strings.

That sounds great!

Would you care to share the name of the EQ app?

Oh, sure...

It's an AUV3 plugin from 4pockets called VisualEQConsole, and runs $6 US. Note that being a plugin it's not designed to run stand-alone and has to be run within an iOS host app - E.g. Garage Band, Cubasis, AUM (which is what I'm using and where I took the screen shot below). I know there are other similar products that are packaged as VST/AU plugins for desktop DAWs but they seem to be much more expensive in the $100-$150 range. Not sure if there are any hardware EQ's with similar features.

It occurred to me last night that I have this at the end of the signal chain, after the other effects - just a bit of reverb & chorus on the melody side, and a touch of reverb on the bass. I'm going to explore the effect it has on the clean signal, and what a difference it makes putting it at the beginning of the signal chain. Should be instructive!
