Sfx SP2 preamp.
I found some previous posts on this but thought I'd mention it anyway. I bought an SP2 off Andy here in Australia some months back , but I'm finally putting it to service. In short as said before, clean , responsive, headroom and just a cool little box. After this morning Its going on the board. I notice from past posts also that only great things have been said about Max & his Sfx custom products from the UK. Worth a look. Pic below. B

Just got one of these, also. Proving to be a handy little box.

Re: Sfx SP2 preamp.
I purchased one as well for use with my PASV-4. The unit is an "always on" type pedal, which makes sense, and is quite compact. It makes use of a TRS input and has the option to support either a summed mono out OR can support a TRS to dual mono out. Handy. I can see why Bruce likes these for his travel board. I'm overdue for a StepAbout, so that's what I am saving up for these days. Until then, the SP2 is a simple, compact and well made alternative.

Bought one about a year ago. Love it!!! Don't know if you're doing it, but I plugged the mono out to a tuner and I can tune both sides with it.

And all of a sudden I feel really stupid. Why didn’t I thought of that????? Lol! Thank, that is a great idea! Bruce, if anything, I’de buy another one, just to have a spare! The coloration it ads to the stick natural tone is wonderful with both the railboard and the stickup. Cheers Rod Enviado do meu iPhone usando o Tapatalk

It probably has something to do with being a fundamentally bad person. At least that's what the voice in my head tells me on a daily basis...got top people working on that

Re: Sfx SP2 preamp.
How does this work? I see one jack input, and two jacks for output. For input, do you just input the melody side of the stick? If I wanted both melody and bass, how do I connect it to the box?

Two outputs, one is stereo (Mel and bass separated) the other one is mono, Mel+bass combined. Enviado do meu iPhone usando o Tapatalk
