Re: K-mix users opinions
I wish I had an iPad that supported the K-Mix. Mine is about 6 years old, but I still like it and it works.
The whole rig is infinitely cooler with an iPad as that can be used to power the iPad, right? That means you just need a pair of powered speakers and whatever you're using to process your sound on the iPad - very nice.
Any pictures of that? =)

Re: K-mix users opinions
Here's a pic of the system without the softstep. It's overkill in some situations. It doesn't charge the iPad, but I've gone through an 8 hour day of rehearsal then a show with plenty of battery left. It doesn't have enough juice to power the k mix, I've used a 2600 mA battery pack though, that did great.

Running on the battery pack. This one is actually 6000mA. The current draw on the k-mix is so low, this will I'll run it for days.

Re: K-mix users opinions
I can't understand if a Stick with active pickups could run into one of the first phantom powered inputs with a single balanced (stereo) 1/4 plug. Would that work? If so, no way to pan bass and melody parts or is there a way to isolate the stereo track in the KMix and DAW? Or does it sum those together 9which I don't want). Reason I ask is what if you need the 2nd input to run a condenser mike into? Does this question make sense?

Re: K-mix users opinions
You'll need to split the stereo cable to two mono feeds. Every channel on the K-Mix is balanced, so a TRS cable won't do it. With the active pickups, you could use any input. You don't need the higher impedance and gain provided on channels 1 & 2. Then you can use your mic on the xlr inputs. Every channel is visible on any daw. A neat trick is being able to pair two channels (1&2, 3&4, etc). When you do that, they automatically pan L & R, all other channel settings will be the same on both, and the volumes track together. Re: K-mix users opinions
Yes! Exactly what John said. I have been using the K-Mix with an AKG p120 condenser with good results on the Tap in Time podcast. Next steps are to find a good mix with voice and Stick - that's a few shows off yet lol. I read this thread through entirely each time and learn something new each time too hehe.

Re: K-mix users opinions
Here's the latest pedal board I built. There's a power strip and usb3 hub hidden underneath. The cable going out the back is an umbilical that goes to an iPad pro running AUM. There's 2 xlr outs recessed on the right side. The DI is an old BSS I modded for use with my fretless. The Boss vol pedal is used as an expression pedal into the Softstep2. Mostly for master volume. The empty spot is for a Mod Dwarf sometime this year.

Re: K-mix users opinions
My rig these days is the Stick into the K-Mix into the K12. Mono lol. Just fingers on steel and wood these days. I have been delighting in the sale of my pedals, although I am hanging on to my Westminster Calvin Compressor, the Xotic compressor, the Roland sy-300 and the HX stomp. Oh, and the DB Instruments m400 volume / expression. Aaaand the TC electronics HOF 2 reverb. And the mini HOF. There may be one more, but seriously, selling pedals is cathartic these days and the K-Mix has provided a nice springboard into a more simple approach. It IS my pedalboard hehe...

Did I mention the Alexander Sky5000? Best combo delay / reverb pedal ever. https://www.alexanderpedals.com/shop/sky5000Keeping that one too...

Re: K-mix users opinions
Gene, you're as bad as I am! lol I've gotten rid of every pedal except for a Radial Bassbone that's on my little "analog" board for quick gigs and upright bass. The Sy-300 is very tempting, but I'm having so much fun with MidiGuitar2 on the iPad I'm not feeling the need. That could/will probably change. Ha!
