Yeah, I messed with it a bit but there's some serious range issues, I have to be able to access the lower notes as easily as the high and middle ones so clamping the pickup with my legs doesn't really work for that. Also, the position that my belt hook is in isn't conducive to it really working... Not for me, anyways... Also, Steve Adelson has a way of holding it kind of like a guitar that "almost" works for me, but it's still also not quite for me - Still gotta use those thumbs to brace and support the instrument as I play.
Bracing the instrument up against my shoulder doesn't work, as it makes for a good chunk of the instrument being difficult to access. I paid for those notes, I intend to play them! Again, standing isn't an issue... but I practice for a lot of hours in a day, and sometimes always standing isn't practical. All good, I'll find a way. I will weld up a bracket/support this weekend similar to a Tag interface/Chapman chair and see if that gets me closer to what I like. And if so, I will order one of each from the dudes who make 'em.
