I started my Stick Stand project with a few parts from On-Stage Stands. Lots of high strength thread locker and a few custom made parts. I've attached a few photos of how it all goes together. It's telescopic and fully adjustable. Rock solid and well balanced. |

The parts for this project were very inexpensive. ($75) https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/RS7500 http://www.performanceaudio.com/item/on-stage-msa9501-posi-lok-clutch/15752/ http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Gimbal-Head-Ball-Ball-Head-Mount-Kit-For-Camera-Tripod-Swivel-Telephoto-SLR-/262467635570 I didn't want to alter my 39 year old Stick too much, so I used the existing belt hook and drilled a hole thru it. I used some 3M VHB tape and a nut and bolt to fasten the shoe. The shoe is very strong and positively locks into the Gimbal mount. I used the 3/8-16 thread on the Gimbal mount and made a special adapter to mount it to the Posi-Clutch. This can be purchased, but add a large diameter washer for support. I used JB-Weld to construct a cone shape between the washer and adapter. https://www.americanrecorder.com/products/5-8-27-female-to-3-8-16-male-thread-adapter?variant=1232857660 |

Great job! Looks beautifully made and really neat and tidy. I have been looking for stand solutions for a while. I'm not a big fan of tucking the instrument into a belt. Do you not find though that having the stand between you and the instrument that you are either too far away from it or the stand is essentially under your legs? Paul |

Paul, I chose this stand because it's a tilt-back design. One leg at the bottom, is totally adjustable. This eliminates having to lean over. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fz46Qvf2BYY pwrightyp wrote: Great job! Looks beautifully made and really neat and tidy.
