If anyone is looking for information about building tube amps, then I can provide some good references.

Post Re: Info for building amps
I took my two JC-120 amps apart last night.
Internally, they are very different in design.
Roland has been making this amp for 30+ years.
What's always bugged me, was the size and weight.

When Rob got talking about his fEARful cabinets,
I thought that I might make my JC-120's into heads.
Since, the JC-120 is actually two 60 watt amplifiers,
I could setup stereo with two separate speaker cabinets.

Sixty watts of solid-state power is not much, as maintaining 6dB of headroom would make that into a pair of 15W power amps: you would not get much bass response that way, assuming the JC-120 does cut bass frequencies in the first place.

I'm guessing that you've never used a JC-120 amp?

Your guess is correct. If you have not used the amp with a different speaker cabinet, then you may not know the amp as well as you think you do: the speakers in the JC-120 were specifically developed for that application.

It's a 30+ year old design. I'm going to experiment with it. 8-)
It might be interesting to split the two speakers further apart.
The result will be fun with the Bass 6' left and Melody 6' right.
