Post The Color of Wood
I bought a nice piece of Purpleheart wood recently.
When I ran it thru the plane, it came out brown?

I've heard that long term exposure to UV turns it brown as well.
Where did the nice purple color go to?

I thought about the problem for a while and came up with an idea.
Since the wood was already brown, there was nothing to lose.
I placed the wood in my tanning booth for 1 hour.

To my surprise, the wood is now a beautiful purple color again. :D

This site cracked me up. Very informative though, a very valuable dataset and nicely presented.
