Mad Monk.

Sweet!

This is cool!

Have you tested how long it will play for?

Several hours, say three or four, before going below 40% battery power, which is when I recharge.

Mad Monk.

Hi Everyone!

I did an overview video of the MOD DUO.

Let me know if you have any questions. I will have a detailed video about the current pedalboard configuration I am using. Stay tuned! Subscribe to the channel to be notified of new videos.

Hey Dean, just watched the video, that is an amazing peace of gear! The idea is just genius! Really amazing! Not perfect for the railboard since they don't have 2 microphone inputs with phantom but if I ever go for a wood stick I would definitely go for one of these: I like to travel light with my presets all organized in advance but everything still available in terms of possibilities. Thanks for posting the video. Cheers Rodrigo

Thanks!

I guess phantom power is one thing that is missing for the Railboard... I wonder if it's possible to make a phantom power box that is powered by USB... It must be possible...

This reminds me of Simphonics V+ http://www.simphonics.com/
that is used to create sophisticated real-time sound modules
on multi-million dollar flight simulators.

V+ is a drag and drop sound effects design system
that uses 'nets' to connect the modules to each other.

I just remembered that there are some battery powered Phantom Power boxes out there. When I did a search I came across this box which uses a 12V power supply, which is what powers the DUO, and a power output so you can daisy chain the power. Phantom power uses virtually no current... So you should be able to get away with just one power supply.

EDIT: Does the Railboard need phantom power on both sides or just one side?

It needs phantom on both channels. Either way that would mean a couple more boxes on the floor... that's one of the reasons I went for a pair of Boss GT001 - it's very small and it has both inputs: instrument and mic. And it's perfect for the railboard. I was really thinking about getting another stick, and that would be perfect since the railboard goes direct into the Boss I will need a new thing for that.

Hi Everyone!

Here is a video I did of my basic pedalboard... It's pretty involved so the video is about 40 mins long...
If you have a DUO you can try out my pedalboard here: https://pedalboards.moddevices.com/pedalboards/585b730e2564d40589088269

You can also hear some sound examples with a guitar at their updated website: https://moddevices.com/pages/mod-duo

Another great episode Dean. This definitely answered some of the questions I had after your intro to the Modern Duo episode.
