Skydiver, I see the power input is 12v...will this unit work with some sort of external battery?
I would like to pair it with my Phil Jones Double Four battery-powered amp for busking and travel.

That's a great question.

I will ask this question on their forum.

The unit should work with any 12V DC source. Just need to have the right barrel size and get the polarity correct.

I've seen battery packs for 9V pedals. I wonder if there are any for 12V.

Some external computer battery packs have 12v settings.
A Mod Duo plus the PJB Double Four combo amp would be the ultimate super-portable rig. Got to get one of these.

Post Re: MOD DUO
Got mine this last week.

I've been playing around with it. Improvising using both sides into individual channels plus synth pads with the KMI 12 step and my wooden stomp box. Time to fire the band!

My thoughts so far:

Pretty intuitive interface and setup

Lots of great plugins, but some need quite a bit of adjustment to get where you need to go and may not be the most obvious choice of plugin to use

Very high quality sound. sounds good with full range speakers (including tweeters) but not necessarily through headphones - may just be my settings.

Would love to be able to access it via android tablet but you can't have everything.

Works with the 12 step but needs the KMI MIDI expander which you can power from the usb port, so, bonus!

Works with guitar synth (via GI-10 or 20 etc.) but you need to be careful with the settings as it doesn't read the MIDI information as cleanly as a regular sound module or GR or whatever. This small box is doing a lot of stuff so I'm willing to give it quite a bit of leeway.

Just my 2 cents (so far)

Tim

Here is an article from July. I just came across it.

An interview with a co-founder of MOD.

Thanks, Dean, for the heads up on this.
Got mine a few weeks ago. In addition to all it can do, its size is another useful feature. It can run on batteries and fits with the amazing PJB Double Four amp combo, also battery-powered, in a carry-on bag.

Can you show me how you connected it to battery power? I think there were some people on the Duo forum interested in doing it.
Can you show pics of your set up?

Thanks!
