Just got my Ditto X4 back from repairs. Of all things, it went out on me during a live performance :( Loop would not record, and the hold effect would not activate. A TC repair shop warrantied it for me, replaced the main board for free. Works like new. Rather odd for them, I've read about some bad X2's on the Acoustic Guitar forum, and today I've heard of some bad X2's found locally here in Michigan as well. I had the X2 when they first came out, then traded up to the X4 mainly to get the extra loop section. The effects are nice, and there's a way you can also combine them, but it requires you to bend down an turn the knob first. The decay function allows loops to disappear as you layer on more.

The main reason I went with TC is the playback audio is top notch. In the past I had one of those larger Boss units, but the playback wasn't as nice.

I wanted to buy the Ditto x4, but I've read a lot of bad reviews from users complaining about failing switches on various devices from this brand. Glad yours is ok now. The features on this unit are amazing though.

I've owned some TC effects in the past, they make really nice sounding gear, so this is unusual. The X2 I had worked really well. I don't think badly of TC about this, but it's good to thoroughly check through all the functions when buying one. I bought another effect yesterday from the same salesman I got the X4 from. And he really appreciated the feedback. Was the first X4 he heard of an issue with. He did see one bad X2 since they came out, but others worked fine.

They have a lot of service centers around the US, so getting it fixed was easy. I will be keeping it, it is a great looper.
