I don't use a traditional amp head (or heads) or combo amp, I only have a power amp and cabinets. So the sp2 is my dedicated preamp directly before the power amp. I have other preamps in the gain stage but they aren't always on; the sp2 is my always-on instrument-to-line signal converter.

Came across this and it’s a big pedal board. 319 pedals.

...nice, instead of an audience?... ...why not...

I can do that with two PODX3s and two JamMans. And no one needs to twirl my knobs.

Re: The big pedalboard discussion
My own opinion, less is more. I don't think I have ever used more than 6 devices patched together be it a rack set up or pedals or combination of both.
But - I'm really not one to talk as I bought a whole bunch of Electro Harmonix, Eventide, and TC stuff over last winter....
Someday i might even patch the stuff together !!
I look at some of what both Trey Gunn and Tony Levin used as far as pedal boards go, and it is just so much - too much - to me, but if that is what is required to get the job done, then it's all good.
I do admire what people have posted here in this thread, there are some truly amazing sets ups shown.

Re: The big pedalboard discussion
Changed a few things recently. I gave up my volume pedal, and reorganized things to have a « symetrical » approach: after the preamp and the signal routeur, melody strings go to a special fx (filter/wah), overdrive, modulation (chorus) ; bass strings go to a special fx (pitch shifter), overdrive, modulation (phaser). Both sides are then going into the boss DD-500 which can be run as a complete stereo delay or dual mono. Very versatile PB and still easy to carry. I just plan to swap one of the overdrive with the brand new Boss OD-200 at some point.
Modern day pedal boards are very visual and can be re-configured on the fly.

Re: The big pedalboard discussion
Some of us still like/miss knob twirlage. Playing w/ others u need knob twirlage. (notice the little rubber thingys) I play with my feet as much as my hands. I will never be satisfied with my pedalboard or my sound it's just the way life is. By the way grozoeil why did u give up yr volume pedal? I couldn't live w/out them...I just don't like turning down p.u.'s I like 'em full-out & decrease the volume from there. (but that might be from being a bass player)

Re: The big pedalboard discussion
I used the volume pedal to sometimes do some swells but I programmed a nice patch on my DD-500 for this purpose, so I didn’t need it anymore. Plus I wanted to make some space on my board to let the Boss PS-6 in [emoji6]
