I perform exclusively through the smaller version of the Performer, the Loudbox Artist. Had it for 6 years. Love it. Sounds great. Full range. Very light weight. But big sound, even the bass.

I don't know if the audio carries through in my youtube videos, but here's a sample:

Or check out my bandcamp or soundcloud site. My last album First Contact was recorded with the Fishman. It worked really well. Simple. Excellent sound. Effects work well for me (I've had no issues). There is send/return jacks for both channels.

I told you before...I'm in love with this place where you play...so much light coming in...just amazing.

This is the front porch of the photographer's house...downtown Regina, SK. I haven't been there since!

I got a chance today to play an acoustic bass through both a Mesa Boogie Rossette and the Fishman Loudbox perfomer. The Rosette is nice, but it works best for an acoustic guitar. It will produce a nice bass tone, but only when turning off the tweeter. I could only imagine going on a major tweakfest trying to dial in a good Stick tone with it. With the Fishman, instant awesome tone that was even across the whole range of that bass. The bigger cabinet seem the give it more power despite being lower wattage. From what I remember, the SPL of the Fishman was not terribly far behind the Rosette. Might make a really good melody side amp, but for $1000, not my cup of tea. The Rosette is very light with plenty of power, might make a really awesome amp for an alto or SG-12.

I may be trading a small PA for the new Fishman. I had tried one of the previous versions years back that had smaller speakers, this new one is a massive improvement.

Picked up a Loudbox Performer last night. Traded in the small single PA I was using for a small “grab and go amp”. Compared to the old Loudbox 100 I used for many years, this is a huge improvement. I really noticed once I started playing it at home. Love the effects that actually have a few controls for them other than a mix knob. Way more bass than the older Performers that only used smaller 6 inch speakers. Both my Grand and NS sounded great. My Grand is a Graphite one that often I’ve had issues eq’ing the melody side. No issues here, the tweeter control is another improvement Fishman made that helps back off some of the frequencies that have often plagued me.

I had fun with this running my acoustic doubleneck into it. For the first few minutes I couldn’t hear the amp but then realized I really was hearing it. The amp matches the actual tone of that instrument perfectly to the point if I don’t turn it up enough, I will not tell the difference unless I mix the effects higher, or really crank up the volume.

An update on Loudbox Performer performance: I've used mine constantly for the past 2 1/2 years with no issues. But very recently, I started hearing distortion, and significant loss of volume. A little online sleuthing recommended a shot of DeoxIT in each input to clear out any corrosion on the contacts. After a quick spritz, the Loudbox was back to full strength.

This is probably a routine thing that could happen for any amp, so no strikes against the Loudbox. It's a great piece of equipment.

Looking at your pic in your avatar, and the name “Sputnik”, is this Lee? I got the inspiration from you to get this if so. Thanks!

Hey Steve, yes it's one and the same. Glad the Fishman worked out for you!

Lee, Bob C really took a long look at your Fishman, I wonder if he bought one too? If so you should be getting a sales commission :)
