Post Mirrored 4ths Tap Hacks
Well, I made these thinking that maybe they'd help somebody out with their tapping. Really, I took a motif I was working on and just kept adding stuff to it, tried to do as much with the idea as possible. Not sure if they turned out to be of any use, but hey... if it gives anybody an idea, I suppose that they served their purpose! Enjoy! (They are kind of funny without meaning to be! hahaha)

Anyways, here they are! Bring your barf bag! I might do more if we can get the smell out hahaha

Nice, this mirrors my approach when I first started. My much hated sequence from hell is the groove I used for my I Shot The Sheriff playthrough.

Thanks for sharing!

Scott! Number 4 was my favorite.

I really dig the whole series and your whole mission. I think "Tap Hacks" is a genius name. I love the double meaning and the pun, in that you are sharing ways to do things more efficiently and that are awesome--what the kids these days call "hacks," and you are also a "hack," as in a non-traditional and non-professional expert. (Well, you're as professional as anyone, but it's not your main source of income).

Keep doing these! I'm subscribed and liking and enjoying. And learning!

Steve, Josh - thanks for the feedback! I might have to do another batch, maybe on a different topic haha I am really fond of sequencing, so my practice often revolves around different sequences and various permutations.

The idea was to present concepts that I am working on that could easily be used by anybody who taps on any instrument, and maybe share the ideas along with my own progress. Kind of a "Hey, check this lick out, whattaya think?" Kind of thing...

Well, here's 3 more. Just ideas, and I hope they help someone out a bit This batch focuses on the dreaded "ascending and descending 4's" sequence (Probably from hell). It helped me out a lot to work these out - I present the idea using one fingering of A-Minor/Cmajor but I practice all 12 keys, every fingering in kind of a "Key of the day" sort of thing. Again, I hope it helps! Just messing around sharing ideas and jamming, no big whup...Feel free to comment, enjoy guys.

Thanks JSK, for another "Tap Hax" and I like the methodology, searching and finding the "proof in the pudding" (or is that "putting"?).

Bass 4ths is great for counterpoint and IMO you're in the process of proving it. I wouldn't want to give up my 5ths bass-with-chords though. I think I've always regarded my left hand as accompaniment so as to get to the rewarding part, the right hand melody. It seems that tuning choices are all about personal needs - what manner of musical beast do you want to represent on stage?

I just have two questions:

What is that white squarish thing next to you? Could it be a milky alkaline infusion apparatus?

How cold is it outside those walls?

Emmett, thanks for checking my stuff out - I really appreciate it and the kind honest words. Your thoughts are always insightful. Yeah, good 'ole 4ths, eh? The rail-board is tuned in RMR, though so I feel like I may yet take another swing at it at some point. I don't know why 5ths is so troublesome for me on a Stick. It's a non-issue on violin or guitar (When I was a little kid I thought guitars were supposed to be tuned CGCGCG) I am not a great violinist but I am light years ahead of my Stick playing. :D All good, Stick is a lot of fun, I love it.

What manner of musical beast do I want to represent onstage? That's easy! I want to be able to do what I do as a bass player, and as a guitar player at the same time. It's what I wanted to do the instant I saw Kevin Keith on youtube demo-ing the Railboard. Lots of stuff to sort out in order to get to where I want to be, but that's the fun, and it's why I share these silly videos... Ideas.

Okay, that white contraption? That is an Ultimaker 3-D Printer. Really fun...

And the temperature outside.... Well, Today it's only -18c (-30 with wind chill brrrr)
