http://www.timesonline.com/entertainment/local_entertainment/beaver-musician-samson-covatch-to-entertain-during-upcoming-happy-hours/article_51a990f8-c0dc-11e6-a9bc-17fcb5db4c74.html

Here's a nice little bit of publicity! There was also a write up in the Sunday paper, but I missed that one. If you don't want to click the link I'll just post it here.

BEAVER -- In the corner by the Christmas tree, near the big drawing of the fourth Earl of Sandwich, you'll find local musician Samson Covatch this Thursday, entertaining at Beaver County's hippest new happy hour.

Don's Deli at 285 College Ave., a half block from Beaver's busiest intersection, is the place where music, libations, cheeses and meats come together for a refreshing break from the holiday hustle and bustle.

From 5 to 7 p.m. the next two Thursdays, Covatch will supply the instrumental background music as Don's diners engage in holiday cheer, abiding by a bring-your-own-beer or wine policy -- with no corking fees. Customers can purchase a charcuterie board. Those who like a little heat might dare to try the Rattlesnake Cheese, infused with tequila and habanero pepper.

Covatch will showcase his skills on the exotic-looking Chapman stick, a 12-string instrument introduced in 1974 as the first new instrument since the saxophone.

Covatch jokes it was his failures as a guitarist and bassist that led him to discover the Chapman stick, though truth is his musicianship is something to admire, as he taps his fretboard's strings to produce a cool and lounge-y, ambient sound.

Covatch played a Don's Deli happy hour a few weeks ago.

"It was a great experience and it was a lot of fun. I'm used to dinner parties and small events so it fit perfectly," he said.

For the next few Thursdays, the Beaver musician will play Christmas songs, originals and maybe even a tribute to the Earl of Sandwich, commemorated on the Don's Deli wall as the man for whom the sandwich takes its name.

My personal favorite part is when they highlight my mistake. But, what can you do? It is what it is.
