First Grand Stick Performance.
In the ongoing "performance training program" I took the plunge, left the Alto and home and set off with the 12 String beast. Same room as last week. Not too much to say , it went pretty well but just a short 15 min blitz. My "New Blue" which I can now fly through on the Alto glitched a little but recovered well, I think it was mostly due to the rather different size between the two sticks. I'm still consciously having to stretch out that right hand pinky & left come to think of it. Having said that I am really loving the possibilities of the Grand now. The one thing that stood out however was the Bass, compared to the Alto of course! I have a bass groove I've come up with that partly uses that wonderful low string , both tapped and slapped, and when that started coming back at me through the PA , my nerves switched to " how cool is this low end! " & though its kind of an improv it was the best thing I did. Picture below, out again next week.

Bruce, you look really cool, especially against that fireplace. That looks like a nice, cozy place to rock it out. Awesome!

Oh yeah Captain! That low end sure is something I had that exact same feeling in my last gig, they had this huge subwoofer really pumping that got me thinking: "how awesome is that?" It's amazing when the sound inspires us, instead of adding pressure Sent by Tapatalk
