I gotta say that Steve rocks, dammit he's inspiring to behold! I love the percussive element of what he does, and seeing this tune in a stripped down fashion with that crazy percussionist is probably the best representation of what Steve does. I wish there was way more youtube stuff of Steve rocking out like this...

I am jealous you got to see him up front an live, though! hahah Awesome!

High frequency percussion all miniaturized on a washboard. DL has prepared the best table for SA's sumptuous feast. Perfect sonic combo and with instant mutual reaction time. Small, mobile, fast, like three cups of coffee at one sitting.

Unerring LH on fretless bass side. All I could ask for (and it's asking a lot) would be to carry those RH bebop lines through some distant chord progressions. It would have to be the right song, like "Stella" or "All the Things You Are" with all the chord substitutions and long legato lines like old Tal Farlow on guitar.

I guess SA's LH would have to slow down a bit to do all that. It may be impossible to improvise it all at the same time.

Emmett thanks for the positive review. For the style you're talking about, check out my version of the Beatles Blackbird on my Stickology CD. The solos are based on the chord progression from the standard "I'll Remember April" done at a very brisk Djangoesque tempo.
So much fun playing in this Star Trek meets the Flintstones duo. A large contrast to the Stick Men style.
