Post 12/30 Open Mic
I went without the old lady, so I had only me to fall back on.

Dust in the Wind
Old Man
Mother Goose

It was well received, but not played as well as in my sanctum sanctorum.

Arrangement details:
Dust in the Wind - LH rolling chords with one funky chord requiring LH thumb. RH two-notes at a time except for the "violin" solo. RH thumb in one spot to achieve main riff on bass side while holding melody note
Old Man - LH single notes. RH chords with lots of 2nds and 4ths
Mother Goose - LH single notes, double stops and some drone chords/9th chords. RH various unusual chords.

Question for singing Stickists:
How do you manage microphone placement vs. the vertical nature of the Stick? At home, I try to put the mic stand off to the left a bit.

Daniel,
Very very proud of you getting as Tom G says "out there"!
Excellent song choices, and I am sure they were well received. I know your arrangements were fresh and spot on. plus that was the right number for an open mike 3. Here's my 3

In-a-ga-da-vida (22 minutes)
Green Grass and High Tides ( 9 minutes) and
Freebird -Live version with all the solos (10:08)

by the time I am done, they are putting the stools upside down on the tables! :)

Congrats and keep going- these are great confidence builders, you have the "halo"effect ( no one else will have a Stick) and you see what works and what doesn't to build your repetoire.

Kudos,
Dave B "DBro"

PS on the mike placement, hopefully they have a boom and you can put it right in front of you, if not, I like it more stage left and you talk over your shoulder, and then walk to the center of the stage without it blocking the audience's view. hope this helps. to the soundman " could you run my wireless Shure headset mike in Channel Z- thx" good luck with that being on!

Great to hear Daniel. I recall your playing from FHA 2014 and some recent youtube videos - I really enjoyed it. Love hearing getting the gig report from you and looking forward to more videos! Happy new year my man.
