Post Here we are again
Hi Stick friends, I'm testing out the new digs and looking to post a little content now that I am settled into my new place. Not a lot of new content this week, but a gig report next Friday for sure, hope you enjoy, cheers.

Yes, back for more oversharing of my Stick journey lol! Marty, was that for a 12'r? That's a crazy varietal on gauges, would love to see / hear that. I am gearing up to try out some heavies on my 10'r with the Actv2.

Gene, I thought that was what you did on a ten-string, light 6 & heavy 8 w/ a medium set. Where did I get that idea? I swear I heard it somewhere! Well, Jeff is sending those 2 extra strings along with my, yes, 12 string DBR set. I de-tune the bass side a half-step, and I wind up w/ 10-string Classic "relationship" tuning-melody one octave lower. But I've always found the low bass string "muddy" so we'll see what goes.

Might have been one of our TnT rants. I'm thinking it was the podcast.

The more we talk about the more I want to try it. Light 6 and a heavy 8 - sounds like a meaty mid configuration.

I believe I related my "light 7/medium 8/heavy 9" configuration for my 12 string on the Tap In Time Strings episode. Could that be what you're remembering? (would be 6 light and 8 heavy on a 10 string).

Aha! Victor, you are the culprit! I'll be sure to post after cleaning and re-stringing.

Ah, it's all coming back now. I have not delved into alternate gauges with Stick strings yet, especially in the mid-range bass side strings.

We shall see. Seems like a cool variation. In DBR med., I love the melody side, but the bass side has always seemed abrupt. Being I play a lot of lines w/ two hands on the bass side, this may prove the Goldilocks.
Again, I'll have the standard med. set should I find it less than optimal.

Sorry to highjack your post Gene, I've turned it into a string gauge post. Let me not take away from having Free Hands Academy up and running again!

I will start a new post on the string experiment as soon as they show up and Kate's not on vacation!
