Gene, thanks for all you've done and continue to do in the Stick community. FHF will be missed!

Words are not enough my friend, not enough... but thank you! The amount of information gathered in FHA is priceless and without comparison in any other community built around an instrument. If anyone rocks, that’s you :)

Thanks for the kindness, the feeling is mutual in every regard.

I'll post the second half of the 1st invention in FHF 99 next week and hopefully get the raw footage of the gig with Emmett, Bob, Rachel, Rick Allegria and myself soon enough.

The intent has always been to welcome new players, learn from experienced players and find some commonality in our musical existence. Thankfully, our community is chock full of curiosity, patience and questions (so, so many questions...).

How I'd love to see a Stick channel.. A 24/7/356 operation that would be run by and for the community. It will probably take the form of a Twitch channel, but that might be close enough...

Hi Boaz! Thanks for the follow up my brethren - I'm so grateful for the opportunity to serve the Stick community. You've always been so great to talk Stick with, thank you.

I met with Dan Chapman last night and reviewed the 3+ hours of footage, something like half a TB. The session will be more of a look back on the previous 99 sessions, of course, the 99th session is yet to be made and will be made tonight. Tonight's session will be the third and final installment of Bach's first Invention in C Major. I expect to post this on Friday, December 21. I will layout the second half of the piece for both hands. I expect it to run approximately 30 minutes.

On that note, I have made significant changes to my AV setup, allowing me to record, edit and post more efficiently. I am wholly committed to generating new Chapman Stick content in 2019, with all focus on performance of material by J.S. Bach. While some of this has been covered in previous FHFs, the intent is to revisit this material with new vigor and a measure by measure assessment of his work. I expect to feature players in our community that have, or are preparing, Bach arrangements of their own. I'll roll through some of the details in tonight's session.

FHF100 is going to take no less than a month to deliver. We'll be well into the new year by the time it is available, but I'll be back (or Bach if you want to be clever about it). :D

back as a teenage classic[al] guitarist, I had great fun with the Anna Magdelena notebook - just a great little collection of vignettes.
transcribing that stuff was fun, manageable, performable and just a great all-rounder

when I worked at a music shop, the classic sign to hang (an oldy) was "gone Chopin, be Bach in a minuet"

As long as we're on a (drum) roll, one of my faves

Q : what's the difference between a violin and a viola?

A : A viola burns longer
