Re: Notating Thumb Chords..?
T…. Indeed.
I know we all have our own methods of sketching this stuff.
In a way I'm curious as to whether there have been any discussion about a standardised notation for thumbs. Staff Tab is so easy and helpful as it exists in it's current form...
You can see from the file attached that I kind of have information overkill within one stave line. I'm not that fussed, it's what works for now.
Cheers.

Re: Notating Thumb Chords..?
I use an upside-down triangle for the thumb

Hi Greg. Ah cool, yeah Sibelius is convenient for upside down triangle..
For me it's getting the underscores to look right on the staves. From the attached diagram you can see it looks a bit random, just thrown in there as it were.

You should use the StaffTab font. The shapes are more regular. What OS are you using? Here is a link to Art Durkee's page where the fonts live: http://www.arthurdurkee.net/stickfonts.html

Re: Notating Thumb Chords..?
...I use a p for right thumb, and then q for the left one...
...by the way : my notation is finger of right Hand 1,2,3,4 written above the staff and fingers of the left Hand 1,2,3,4 under the staff always when RH fingers are playing on melody side and LH fingers on the bass side...
...if LH fingers visit the melody side and RH fingers do the same for the bass side, I'm writing 1°,2°,3°,4° for each hand...
