Post Recliner Practice
Been getting into playing reclined on my couch, it's great after a long day of work when the idea of standing around with an instrument stuck in my pants sounds like too much. Anybody else do this? I've mentally equated it to sitting down at a piano hahaha

I used to play both Stick and Railboard like this.
I had removed the belt hook from both, for more comfort.

The Stick now has a telescopic Monopod, so I play it sitting or standing.
The Railboard still gets played laying down. It resides in the basement studio.

I feel this. I always dress for comfort when I'm out of work and having the stick pull my pants down isn't my ideal way to spend my days

I need a lap bar!!

If you're at all 'handy' a lapbar is not hard to make (there are designs here on Stickist, e.g. the Dbro https://www.stickist.com/viewtopic.php?p=63981), or a 50mm (2") belt worn quite loose is good.

Edit to add: 'quite loose' => Worn separately, not through any trouser loops, set several inches longer than your waist, sort of 'hanging' from the hips. Mine is of the type with a 'click buckle' so I can have it left set to just the correct length & all I need to do is wrap it around, click, then drop the Stick hook into place.

However, for several months I've been using a homemade stand (DIY plus bits of drum kit), or a monopod (also DIY, and of different design to the one WerkSpace uses).
