Which AZUL track for next video?
Hi everyone,
I'll be making one or two more videos form the recording session this month to promote the CD, and I can't really decide which tracks would be the best....
So, those of you who have the disc, please vote on which you'd like to see "live".
If you want to explain your choices, I'd be happy to hear the reasons why.
Thanks in advance for any input you might have. You can vote for two.

Ok there are soooo many great moments on the disc. I love the end of "boys make noise "when you answer John D's trumpet call. and so much great interplay with the drummer you are changing meters and he keeps right up with you.
my 2 choices were
1 Night birds. great stick drum interplay!!! and a stick sound which is beyond rich, very fender rhodesish.
2. tear jay. just gorgeous ...those minor 3rds. a great "ECM" type feature for the group and John D's ears are awesome.
with that said any would be great

Seems to me that with its shorter duration, very well-defined groove, and pretty well-formed musical statement, "Boys Make Noise" would translate very well to the video medium.

I vote for Seared, the Seer Soared for two reasons:
1. I love the way it starts - one of the more aggressive pieces on the CD. 2. The alliteration
But if you go with Boys Make Noise, we get to find out the identity of the vocalist.

Tear Jay - love the overall vibe on that one Don't Be a Baby - just because But I honestly love the whole album and would happily watch any videos you care to share, including any more of the group playing live (hint, hint... )

Re: Which AZUL track for next video?
Thanks so much for the suggestions, Luc, Brett, Jeremy and Claire "Boys Make Noise" and "Seared, the Seer Soared" are actually one continuous piece, so if I was going to do one, I'd like to do them together. "Night Birds" is the first part of the same audio segment, but you don't hear that as obviously from the mastering. I look forward to more suggestions, so far "Tear Jay" looks like the winner for the next video, but keep those votes coming... Far be it from me to go with the flow but I'll add a Tear Jay vote. Certainly there are several stand outs on this record though. Queequeg had a really cool groove to it and I really loved the way Ahab's Release wrapped it all up. Nice effort all the way around and really cool that you captured these improvisations in both audio and video form.
