This seems too me a very non-Stickist post in an attitudinal sense.

People don't pick up the Stick to compare themselves to others.

Any comparisons are damaging to my self esteem and kill my enthusiasm. Critical listening is one thing, but comparing individuals is old and damaging behaviour. It also tends to create niche's and opinion "dead ends in the road", yes?

2012 is the year to play music as it's own reward and be free from comparison. If I'm thinking of comparing myself to others then I'm not thinking of how I can connect with my own music and how I might develop that.

All 3 players are amazing BUT this list is by no means complete. You forgot Larry T., Rob M., Emmett C., Brett B., Japhiet, and the list goes on. They're ALL amazing musicians. My favorite depends on my mood at the time. Do I want to listen to nice easy listening tunes, do i want to hear complex jazz, Classical, do i want progressive music, how about a little Keith Emerson played on the Stick? People always compete, it's in our nature, but IMO the only thing these people all have in common is they play Stick and they all play it extremely well. They aren't apples to apples style wise.

Who's better? Hard to answer. .......... I think WE become better because these players help motivate us and help us see some of the amazing things that can be played on the Chapman Stick. So my answer is US, we're better because of them!
