I am curious how many tunes other players have memorized.

Around 40 covers, ranging from classical to pop to celtic, and about 20 solo pieces that haven't been recorded yet. I generally write two or three songs a month as well.

I suppose it depends on what it means for a song to be in your repertoire.

What does it mean to "know" a song? I don't like the word memorize.
I always feel like I have more to learn on any song, they are never really learned.

Sorry to be cryptic, I don't mean to be a wiseguy. I have never felt my rep to be larger than a tune or 2 on any instrument. Whatever I'm shedding at the time. So I guess 1

0.

I almost know a couple of songs from start to finish.
For some reason, its origins unknown to my conscious mind, I have a severe aversion to covers.

I mean, I like some songs; and there's a couple I'd like to play. Yet, when I get down to it, I half-assed it and just start noodling my own musings.

I'm hoping to overturn this in the near future. If I'm successful I'll update my repertoire count :P

Gee I thought "I" was the only person who hasn't spent enough time learning new Stick tunes (too busy writing and recording with other instruments) but seeing over half the people who have replied know less than 10 songs on Stick that makes me feel a little less bad about my lack of progress . ......... a little!

(Man I really need to make more time to focus on the Stick!! Less than 10 songs? ... what?)
