Was reading another thread re: instruments folks played before the Stick, so here's a poll for all. You can check off multiple instruments or change your vote.

Started out on violin, then guitar. Now I mostly play Stick and (electric) violin.

My previous instruments: piano, guitar (Classical & Rock), Hammond Organ with pedals, Moog - Prophet - Synclavier synths, electric bass. I played the Moog modular synth with its small keyboard and a custom interface with the two octave pedalboard on the Hammond (switchable to four octaves). For a brief time I had the melody strings on my ten string ironwood driving the Synclavier.

Guitar and drums, some bass, and a modicum of hammered dulcimer (definitely non-traditional playing) and piano. Oh, and some classical guitar as well. I very much consider it a different instrument from plectrum based and folk-styled guitar because of the right hand technique.

I studied, performed, and taught guitar for over 20 years before picking up the Stick. It's been years since I've even touched a guitar now!

Currently, I play mostly 6 string bass and 6 string fretless bass in my band. I also have spent lots of time with 5 and 4 string ftretless. Mostly made for me by Wishbass. I also play guitar. Electric mostly. When younger I played, Cello, flute, clarinet and upright bass.
I use a roland GR20 on my bass to cover keyboard parts and a lot of color with strings and such.
I am waiting for my new 10 string Bamboo Stick with a midi pickup on the melody side.
