Yea - there should be another choice - Software Compressor.... I also play mostly through a laptop and I do use compression here and there. Dave |

Thanks for all the responses. I added software as an option. edit: Adding a poll option apparently deleted the 30 or so previous votes. Please re-submit your vote. Thanks. |

I use a Retrospec Sqeezebox most of the time. A LA-2A in a stompbox more or less. Opto tube compressor. Love it. Sincerely//Jan |

michaelpaffen wrote: Hi, I use two DBX160A (one for each side of the Stick), not as a pumping effect, but as a subtle optimizing of the basicly clean sound. Real easy to use. 4:1 Ratio with maximum of 4db reduction playing the 7th and 8th string around the 7th fret on my Grandstick. The sound gets clearer, more focused and a lot easier to handle while practise, recording or just having fun. Cheers DBX're great! Isn't 160A too old-fasioned? And do you think, that dbx dual-channel racks will do? 266 (i guess) or any like that? 1066 for eg? |
