Proud Railboard owner
Finally received the blue Railboard yesterday that I ordered 10/7/2014. Unfortunately there are no basic instructions on connecting it to amplifiers or preamps so that I can actually now play it. I hope that a preamp is not required. I do have a Peavey Max158 bass amp and a couple small guitar amps.

Welcome and congrats! I see you are located in Pittsburgh. I am in Erie though I don't have a Railboard. What kind of cable do you have? Is it the regular stereo Stick cable or one of the XLR kind? If you have both, just try plugging the regular stereo cable into some amps(red bass, blue guitar, I think) or you could go into a PA mixer and into any speakers just to try it out. In a pinch, I have played through a boombox and even a hotel tv using the Audio in(red and white) with an adapter going from rca to 1/4 inch stereo jack(which I plugged into my Stick.
Hope that helps. Robstafarian or Greg will see your post soon and no doubt clear things up for you.
You may know this but there are a few other Stick players in your area. DBro, Samsonstick and I forget who else.
Mike

Mike Brilliant. gthomas15229 - saw your question on the FHF session on this. It's going to require some testing on your end - that's half the fun If you are thinking of any big purchases, just run it up the flagpole here, chances are, someone has some guidance on the matter. Congratulations, enjoy!

Re: Proud Railboard owner
Congrats for your Railboard. If you have your cable (stereo on one side and 2 mono on the other side) it's so simple. You wrote you have a bass amp and a couple of guitar amps...that's perfect to plug your RH in the guitar amp of your choice and the LH in your bass amp.
RH= right hand LH= left hand...of course.

Use the 1/4" jack Y cable to start: Red = Bass Blue = Melody
Toggle the switch on top of the R-Block so that it leans toward the fretboard (i.e. away from the melody side control knobs) for dual mono mode.

Re: Proud Railboard owner
Why didn't they set it up so Blue is for the Bass side?
