Post Let the adventure begin
Hello,

I recently acquired railboard #6393 from a very nice person with some health problems that prevented this style of playing (the problems were mentioned in the FS announcement, so I feel OK mentioning that far)

years ago I was a classic guitarist (my skills on that are completely atrophied) -- but that particular approach to that instrument I think has some resonance : pushing more toward counterpoint , etc -a polyphonic instead of a homophonic approach and such

My own family health issues have recently reminded me to seek the experiential (and serendipitously, a railboard became available).

As far as goals, frankly, I don't really care (which is freeing) - I'm more interested in the exploration, the process, the experience ; to see what the stick can bring to me and what I can bring to the stick.
Going at this with a little less internal judgement this time around.

In some way, the railboard is an interesting place to start - new approach, the new material and construction methods that depart from traditional lutherie - it is in keeping with my own situation regarding playing music.

I have the instrument for a few days, but have not "noodled" too much because I would like to approach it mindfully and the environment will be a bit chaotic for a few more days

but I digress

I am excited to begin...wherever this may lead

Welcome aboard, JD. Have fun, and don't be afraid to ask. (But also be sure to look up topics on this forum. There are a lot of questions that get repeated over time; many of them have already been asked more than once. )
