I believe that there are not 10 strings grands with stickup. The poles in both versions of the stickup (standard 10 strings and 12 strings) will not accommodate the 10 grand string spacing.
Please correct me if I'm wrong :)

Cheers, Daniel.

Ta daa,

Am Back to the stick, this time an 8 string, Tarara looks like. Bought from a user of the german stick group.

Chapman Stick Arrives by Tanais Fox, on Flickr

Came in a flight case with strings, a new looking strap.

I already love the very familiar bass layout, much more famliar than the 10 string - as usual my biggest obstacle is pressing too hard so when i get home i'll amp it up and start ligtening up and adding it to my scales, fingering and practice i put in on double bass, it'll be nice to do a little less bass and a little more of something else. And frets! One less thing to think about!

Aha our bear is Jago, a leonberger... One of the giant breeds. He's happy because daddy is happy. We just lost our girl at 13 a month ago - a fine old age for big dogs but we'll miss her.

Am i right that The wood is tarara? Not wenge as advertised. It looks exactly as the original owner pictured so its just a name, but would be nice to know.

Maybe someone can help me. is the stringing of the first and last string correct? Looks... A little asymmetric...

Starting with scales and arpeggios. My fingers feel a liitle sore, still pressing too hard. Lighter, lighter! Must build me a small head/preamp for private practice.

hey fox.
you need to take that thin string (not sure of the note 'cause I don"t play stick bass) and wind it like the top thick string.

cheers,
kev

cheers it did seem a bit odd, thats how it arrived. I'll sort it out soon. Seems to play fine, but it didn't look right. (Its fourths straight up so its a B-flat string).

This is the first thing I have done with the Stick since getting it and putting in my scales and so on.

Couple-a bum notes but plenty of time to put some slick work into that..
