Post Newbie, Stickless, UK
Hi, folks!

I mentioned on BassChat that I'd always fancied a Stick and someone suggested I check out this site.

My earliest recollection of the Stick was an album by Alphonso Johnson (Spellbound) in the 70s, then in the 80s I saw King Crimson with Tony Levin on their warm-up tour billed as Discipline, and more recently (well, this century, anyway!) I bought Greazy, by Jim Lampi, possibly more because it was on the Naim hi-fi label than any other reason.

I was chatting with someone about possibly buying a Stick a year or two ago, but I ended up getting another Rickenbacker bass instead, which used up my funds at the time.

But it's an itch I've still got to scratch, so I'm getting curious again.

Funds-wise, I've got maybe £1k - will that buy me a decent Stick in the UK?

Hi Again, long time no speak.

You can get lucky and could get a stick under £1k, but its not that common, they are mostly just over that. When I got mine, the guy I got it from had an older one for 800, but mine was £1300 I think. But they really don't come up often anyway so it is a tricky market.

Hi - bouncing around various forumz! :-)

I tend to be quite patent about these things, but I can also do impulse buys, so I can find I'm spent up when the right thing happens to appear.

Hi and welcome

You may find some help there as well, if you are a Facebook user.
