Post Hey from Scandinavia
Hey everyone, just joined the forums.

I currently don't have a stick, but it's something I'm very seriously considering (still not sure between a stick or a touch guitar!). I work as a composer currently doing a doctorate at university in music, and I've played drums most of my life. Bass and guitar have been a hobby that I've indulged in for about two years, and even then I was mostly consider something touch style.

Hello especially to any other people in Scandinavia!

Chapman Stick is badass! But it honestly takes a lot of time and total dedication to get down, but it's worth it! I personally went with an NS Stick because it's the dopest instrument ever and it's easy to transition to if your coming from bass/guitar! Either way Emmett makes fantastic sounding instruments that feel easy to play and unlock infinite musical possibilities! The hardwood options are great too at a very reasonable price

Thanks for the welcome!

I grew up mostly listening to metal (doom, progressive and death mainly) as well as prog rock. My taste (and work) gravitates nowadays much more towards contemporary classical, but I'm also very much into jazz, RIO, etc. Anything that's well written and articulated gets a listen from me really.

Welcome to the Club (potentially) there's a lot of info out there, and right here, about the Stick and other tapping instruments, single region vs. dual region, etc. I find compositionaly the Stick to be a wealth of inspiration and I believe it's the 4ths/5ths tuning that does it for me. Worth getting my head around. Like a Swiss Army Knife of a musical instrument.

The big 'nothing spaces' are most likely YouTube links.
It depends on what browser you are using. Some browsers see it, some don't.

PS: I had some fun with the Helix Floor last night. I'm not much into Heavy Metal but I setup a Heavy Distortion virtual pedal and it sounded amazing on my Railboard. If I ever get around to setting up a camera, I'll post a quick video.

Hi Norstick.

Welcome!

You sound like a brother from another mother. My first instrument was drums and I'm stringing out my Bmus specialising in composition.

Looking forward to hearing your sounds in the fullness of time.

That's awesome Stickrad! I got first into music tech, and doing a lot of production work but then went more and more into contemporary composition. Haven't really been playing the drums the last 5 years or so, but everything else brings me much more joy to play.
