OH, I hadn't realized that RMR was not just a matter of tuning, but also uses different strings. I can see how that's much more than simply changing the pitches of the strings.

Re: newbie has a boatload of newbie questions
Thanks for following up, Dave! I've pretty much decided to get a bronze Railboard. I'm visiting Sputnik this morning to fondle one in person.
Like I told my wife: I've pretty much decided what I want to do, and visiting can only dissuade me rather than convince me... but I guess it's better to be dissuaded before than after. I am interested to see his amp, too.

Re: newbie has a boatload of newbie questions
I finalized my order today! Bronze Railboard with silver inlays.
They say 4-5 months wait, but I'm hoping it arrives in tomorrow's mail. Fingers crossed!

And your attitude about the Stickwait is a healthy one--no, that's me trying to justify my own obsessiveness about wondering if today was finally going to be Stickmas. I hate the not knowing what day it will be. But congrats on the order and the soon-to-be journey towards rockitude!

Re: newbie has a boatload of newbie questions
Krappy guitar? NO. Why? When you buy something cheesy, you end up buying the better one afterwards, which doesn't end up saving you any money at all. I don't buy cheap tools, why would I buy a cheap instrument, which is soon to be my tool of choice?
