Re: share your musical background
True, but that was 10 years ago. I started on guitar and moved to bass. Also played Drums (what I consider my second instrument after anything strung) and mandolin, in high school orchestra, I played French horn. Had to play piano and sing in the choir for my music degree.

Since the previous thread spans from 2010 to 2014, why not revitalize it? This way all same nature informations would be gathered in one thread. [emoji3]

Re: share your musical background
Hello! I'm a prog/metal/rock bass player who's also played guitar, harmonica, piano, organ, hymnal, sitar, and as a child was lucky enough to do a brief spell on The Magical Musical Thing.
I sing, but only when forced to and no other alternative presents itself. I'd actually really rather not.
Been doing this music thing since August 8 of 1988.
And just yesterday, I received my first Stick instrument, and am now in training while waiting to see where I go next.
Hello to all, and I look forward to getting to know more of you.

Re: share your musical background
I played trumpet from the fourth grade till 12th grade. I was a Band Geek, half time shows parades etc. Took some lessons on drums for a while. Took some guitar lessons some piano lessons. Still can't play music for shit. I finally found my musical outlet and it's called the Chapman Stick. I haven't played anything from 1986 til about 2011. I found the guitar then, and moved to the Stick. I gave away most of my guitars. I kept the ones I love. I have a piano and a drum kit in my studio. There is no looking back. I'd love to change the world, but I'll leave it up to you. The Chapman Stick changed my world.

Re: share your musical background
I’ve been playing trumpet for over 38 years and semi professionally for the past decade now. Have a degree in composition and studied jazz arranging privately with some big name Canadians like Rob Mcconnell and Dave Mcmurdo. I play trumpet in a bunch of bands and orchestras but have a day job doing service tech type stuff. It’s too hard being a musician and surviving on just that. Came to Stick almost three years ago and have been obsessed since. I’m trying to catch up for lost time

Lessee here now, backgrounds, eh? ummm I have a cool Steve Vai poster, A cool Beethoven bust, and a Paganini painting... umm some Frazetta stuff, a G3 poster, and some cool Star Wars paintings. And of course, all of my beloved instruments are kind of the backdrop to my little music workshop. So yeah, there you have it!
