Greetings
Hello,
Just returned to Stickist after a long absence (I drop in now and again). I have an older ironwood stick (#1203) which I purchased in 1983. I also have an NS Stick (purchased in 2006) with a Graphite neck.
The Stick had been sitting in my attic for years. I finally returned it to Emmett in 2005 for an overhaul. New pickup, truss rod installed, cleanup & setup, etc. Again, I got distracted and it was sitting around for a long time.
Well, I just got the bug again and I've been digging in, trying to get proficient. Thankfully, the Stick is in good shape, although I had to make some neck/bridge adjustments. It's still not quite right, but it's getting there. The NS gets used regularly as a standard bass. I've just started messing with it as a tapping instrument.
Plus, to further declare my re-commitment, I just ordered a new Railboard! Blue with linear inlays, chrome tuners w/black buttons. I'm a little conflicted on the inlay color. I was going to go with the glow, but switched to Silver glitter. Would anyone happen to have a photo of Silver Glitter on a darker stick? I have problems on the old Stick seeing the dot inlays, so I figured the linear's would be better. As far as the inlay color, I'm more interested in easy visibility over any glitz factor. Any thoughts?
So now the wait begins for the Railboard. 2-4 months seems to be the current time. After the Railboard arrives, I plan on returning the original Stick for a fresh setup.
Sorry for rambling, good to be back!
Brad

Re: Greetings
My Railboard is blue, with white dots. I don't play it as much as my 12 string, but dammit is it ever cool. Emmett's design is an inspired one, without a doubt.
Glad you are getting back into it, dude!

Re: Greetings
Thanks guys!,
Here's a few photos of my Stick #1203 & NS Stick. Interestingly, the NS Stick was sent to me without a nameplate. I had to have them send it to me later. It's still in an envelope in the case. I don't really want to drill holes in the top so I haven't installed it yet!

Re: Greetings
Don't put it on. Looks good without it.
If you really want to put it on, avoid the holes and use double sided sticky tape.
