Post Introduction from new member in Costa Rica
Hola a todos stickistas,

My name is Alberto Dally, formerly known as Darrell Dally back in the 90's when this was Stickwire. I had a 10-string purple heart at the time but personal issues distracted me from giving it the attention it deserved and I deserved to give it. I drifted off into playing keyboards, including accordion but in the back of my mind I think I subconciously regretted selling my stick. I wish I could remember the number of the instrument so I could know it had a good home now.

At any rate, I am now hoping to start over with greater determination. I am hoping to take delivery of my new railboard after saving up funds for several months by my next birthday, which is August 26th, same birthday as the Stick. My dream is to fly to Los Angeles to pick it up in person at Stick Enterprises. I will be 66 years old so perhaps a grandpa Moses of the Stick (I believe the Stick will be 48 on that date).

happy to be journeying back to stickland,

Alberto

:D

Welcome back, Alberto. I hear Costa Rica is wonderful.

I'll bet you can find the number by asking SE. They keep pretty good records.

Bienvenido en este forum, el mejor sitio para hacer preguntas.

Welcome...we're about the same age and you'll get your new instrument with a lot of fun...not easy but so fun to learn. I got mine 6 years ago and even though I don't play this instrument as well as I can play guitar (for example), it's always a great pleasure to explore on it.

Estuve dos veces en su pais...maravilloso...

Costa Rican Stickists are well represented here! Great to hear you are back in action and thanks for reaching out via FB as well. Looking forward to hearing more about the reunion! Have you already purchased your next Stick or are you in the planning stage? Maybe you already mentioned that and I just missed it.

Glad you're here! :D

Hello Gene,

I am at this point in the money saving phase of purchasing a new Stick since I am living in a different country on a minuscule fixed income (but which is a generous one for the average Tico). My plan though, is for a plum colored railboard (haven't decided on the color of fret markers or tuners). :?:

Incidentally, just watched Free Hands Friday, episode #41, about stickist.com. Perhaps in time I will take advantage at some of the suggestions on that video.

thanks Gene.

It is also heartening to know there are other players in Costa Rica. Probably not enough to host a Free Hands Academy here ;) I am curious as to where in the country some of the other players are living. ¿Donde viven ustedes? Vivo en la costa del Caribe en provincia Limón...cerca del Parque Nacional de Cahuita. Es muy lindo.

Hola Alberto! You will be happy to know there are quite a few of us old geezers batting away on our respective Sticks. While I got my first one in the mid-80's, I didn't start getting serious until a few years ago, and now I will be...59? As the kids say. OMG! WTF? LMAO!
