Post What is this?
... anybody know what this is? It was in the case along with my 1983-84 era Ironwood. I can't for the life of me figure it out: the best I can think of is that it's some sort of early Lap Dawg-type thing: the holes in the middle are angled slightly, similar to a belt hook, and that knob in the middle is the top of a fairly thick (maybe 1/4") screw that almost looks like it would attach to a guitar stand. The curves in the wood seem to fit over one's legs as well.

Any ideas?

Dylan

No idea, but my guess is those holes are (if this is indeed a lap-bar-type device) for adjusting the height of the Stick. Why they're angled, I have no idea.

That's my guess. Some kind of home made lap bar device that attaches to the Stick somehow. Cool.

And not very thick, so quite uncomfortable on the legs I'd have guessed?

I have extra padding even on my DBro inspired lapbar (a pair of thick 'thermal' socks, one each side, that were 'retired' from normal use when the heels went), but that's with a bamboo grand, so heavier than a 1980's Ironwood.

Looks like it was used as a device to attach to the Stick to play in a sitting position.
