How about a 30" scale 12-stringed Railboard in full MR tuning? I would guess that would be a winner. Optimal string length for a beautiful tone and dealing well with the weight issue.

Hi Per. Is 30" the scale of an SG12? I looked for the answer at Stick.com but could not find it as part of the verbal description of the SG12.

But at music gear shows I have tried out a Ziggy/Euro Tapper that is twelve-stringed at 32" scale and tuned like a Matched Reciprocal Grand STick. This was a very pleasant acquaintance, felt more like "a big SG12" than like "a small Grand". It lacked the perfection of a SE instrument but was still easy to play. I would guess such a mid size neck length would sound really good with SE tech design.

Bamboo also feels very good. It is very smooth but not glossy or sticky. It has a very natural feel to it.
Does anyone know if it is coated with anything? I am thinking it isn't as it probably isn't needed but I am not sure.

It doesn't feel like the Watco that is on my oak or my paduk. That's why I asked.

I can confirm that Danish Oil is used on Bamboo Sticks. Emmet said so in a thread where I expressed concern with the dye wearing off my red dyed light Bamboo SG-12. I use to clean up and add one layer Danish Oil once a year.

Does anyone know if it is coated with anything? I am thinking it isn't as it probably isn't needed but I am not sure. For many years I use baby's oïl on my guitars, bass, cello and now my stick. Few drops and I spread it with my hand. Then I wait one minute and I sweep everything with a dry cloth. Wood becomes beautiful and not sticky at all. Very pleasant to play also. And it smells good...
