Post Praise for AZUL..
Greetings and Salivations from Seattle!! Recently, I have dug deep into listening to GH's AZUL, and the record is just stunning in just about every aspect.
1. The improvisational prowess of the trio is just amazing… listening… following… groove… creating…
2. Check out some of Greg's Bass work and bass tones… He really utilizes interesting bass tones that you do not hear often on the Stick…. processing and fingering technique…
3. How is plays with the meter and his rhythmic chops…. when you listen down beneath what is going on "up front", you can really catch some tasty morsels of how Greg plays with the meter and his use of muting and chords to play off of that insane drummer!!
4. His tasty use of effects…. his natural tone, delicious!!
5.He really demonstrates a nice understanding of harmony and melody.
6.The sonic imprint of the record itself is tight with nice headroom. I do not think Greg tracked the record, however he did mix it.
5 stars… Great performance. CHeck it out!! :ugeek:

I have mixed feelings about live streaming. On the one hand it's cool, but on the other hand there's something about being in a place, and sharing an experience with just the people there.

I find myself resisting the urge to document everything these days. There are several live videos of the band on YouTube, and a "live" CD, so I don't feel like there's a lack of content representing this band online.

Maybe if we have a concert sometime that's in a setting more conducive to video...

Here's one of the live vids of the band from an early show:

and a more recent one:

Hopefully you'll continue to document your shows at least occasionally so those of use who can't come down for a show in your neck of the woods can still see some of it. I've really enjoyed all the Azul videos you've posted.

Depending on the performance, definitely. Some venues are more video friendly than others. Glad you enjoy them, Claire
