People pick up the Stick for so many different reasons...we're not all destined to become soloist/Stickists...I got mine in '83 and never "dug in" but I played it in a band and with a guitarist and poet...all these situations brought new music/discoverys to the scene...I'm back playing it again- its compositional aspects are so "right there"- but I still suck...So WHAT. I'm back playing it again (and I locked up my basses). JRJ- you said 6years? I'm in.

That's a really excellent response. It's just too bad it could be so discouraging to some.

Most people take years to be any good on ANY instrument! (And some never get good) With the Stick you play two seperate parts using two different tunings so it can take longer then the guitar but once you gain some mastery of it you can play much more complete tunes by yourself ... it's worth the effort.
