I've got an original 10-string stick (just getting about learning to play), serial # 341 and I'm trying to fill in a bit of it's history. Mainly trying to figure out if it's ironwood or rosewood (or ironwood with rosewood neck) as I've seen references to all three, It's a dark wood, not light like the maple & bamboo models I've seen.
I've tried to look up Stick production history at the various sites but what I've seen is pretty vague.
Thanks-
Gary

A picture tells a thousand words: let us see, please To be truly sure though, you should have to contact SE: they keep records for all their instruments.

Re: Is it Ironwood or Rosewood?
With a serial number that low, I'm betting on ironwood. I still have my first Stick; ironwood #745. Many of the early instruments were constructed of this wood, with the occaisional oddballs like macassar ebony or zebrawood.
