Maybe we're just getting fat... (Everybody says that's the case when you are more than 30)

The screw heads that go into the Stick body? Is it breaking in the holes or across the plastic plate?

My belt hook actually broke during shipping where the allen screws connect into the body of the instrument. I was able to somewhat fix it but I ordered a new one from SE when my fix breaks (again).

Are these newer Sticks that have the breaking belt hooks? I have 2003 Paduak 10-string, and the hook is pretty rugged, I can't imagine how it could break. Just curious if the design or materials have changed.

Mine was made a couple of years ago and I honestly think it broke because of the way it was shipped from the person I bought it from. The new one seems to be very sturdy yet flexible.

I'm well over 30, (in the shadow of 50, and unfortunately, I do have belly issuessssss (oops - fingers slipped from the oil of the macadamia nuts I am sitting her eating) and I have never broken a belt hook. Of course, I mostly play sitting down (so I can reach my nuts - macadamian, of course.)
I wonder how hard it would be to make a rotating hook - it locks into place wherever you choose to rotate it to. That way, if you want it upright, no problem, or if you want it more at an angle like a guitar, you simply adjust it, lock it back in. Doesn't seem like it would be too difficult to come up with that. Of course, you would also need the retractable neck strap someone else already invented several posts back.

I think that the strap lock is the only weak link in the chain. I go through one of those every year, they just seem to get loose and flimsy after a while.

Since a picture is worth a 1000 words here is my broken belt hook and my ugly fix Sorry for the quality of the pictures... Cheers, Daniel PS: I guess this will hold well so I will include a new belt hook with my next string order (in a few months).

Any chance of seeing an RMC piezo-midi system on a stick?
