Hi guys, I have a new forum quirk question that could fit here but I had this problem with the old forum as well;
Is there any trick to uploading an avatar? I have put images in PhotoShop shrunk them down
to ridiculously small sizes just to see if I could get anything at all to post and no go I know
that the image must be 72dpi and that; " Maximum dimensions; width: 90 pixels, height: 90 pixels, file size: 6kB" The olny thing that I can come up with that is odd is that I am using a Mac. But come on John this has got to be as simple as it gets Any help thanks.

Are you getting a message that the file is still too big? I used Photoshop on a Mac as well. I used the "Save for Web" command which optimizes the file size, I kept reducing the JPEG quality until it got under the size limit.

Gifs are usually smaller than jpegs, and you can set them to less colours as well. I think that my avatar resides on a mac at work so I'll check it tomorrow and let you know the spec of the file.

Those are both new ideas for me. I have not come accross "optimize for web" though it's probably right in front of me also "gif" files? I will check it out. Rob yours is especially
good because its big and clear. Thanks.

I just checked and mine is an 80 x 80 pixel GIF file using Index colour. File size 6k.

Index colour helps a lot with file size.
