Dark bamboo 12 stringed Grand Stick in classic tuning with light gauge strings and PASV4. I first ordered on the nine months cycle and then SE offered me to take over a cancellation that is almost the same as my order. Awaiting my first Stick now somewhere around January/February.

(EDIT: I changed my order for Matched Reciprocal tuning)

So I have suddenly gotten busy working up enough protecting thick skin on my right hand finger tips. I remember the horrible pain I had in my left hand when starting out on guitar and if comparing my left and right hand today the left hand's fingers are 3 mm longer. Sometimes I like to play up to ten hours on a day, just in order to learn fast, and I would really hate being forced to temporarily put down the Stick because of such a silly issue as beginner's right hand finger pain.

I wouldn't worry about toughening up the fingertips. Since I quit guitar and played Stick exclusivey, I lost all of my calluses. It's such a light-touch instrument that very minimal effort is needed to sound notes in either hand. The lighter the touch, the better. It will allow for a fluid, relaxed feel in the fingers and better dynamics.

I do play 6-8 hour gigs every weekend, and sometimes I find my fingertips are a little callused afterwards. But that's just from extremely long contact between the fingers and strings, not forceful tapping
You will find that there will be no finger pain when it comes to playing the Stick. If there is, you are doing something wrong and need to check your technique

What would be a great item for a light laminated bamboo stained turquoise for an SB8? On the website under hardwoods, what are some good items there? Anyway, I really love those several wenge pictures there.

Has the latest production run started moving out the door yet? Anybody heard about their instrument from SE yet? They must be getting close! :)

Dangerously close. I'm starting to daydream about mine. Should be the end of this month or early January :D

Which reminds me that I need to get the last of the $ sent to SE
I'm glad that I've been chiseling away at the balance the whole time!

With regards to the $'s, I've been playing russian roulette with the Aus $ exchange rates. We're on a slight decline at the moment, but hoping it will buoy up again. Compared to the sucky rates when I ordered it, I have saved $1,500 in local currency so far!

Well folks, get ready! I've just received a call from Cambria @ SE to advise that my Rosewood Grand 10 has been completed! I guess this means others in this run shouldn't be too far away...

Now all I need to do is get it to Australia!

Big smiles! :D

Lovely news, Samstick! Mine is scheduled to be finished by early/mid January. Wish I could just go hibernate and wake up on Delivery Day!
