I would like to tell you about my bad experience with Stick Ent.
I purchased 10 black tuners to replace the chrome ones with black ones. (I don't like chrome)
I order them and I only get the rear tuners without the front nut to fix them, I pay 120 dollars which is the invoice price of 12 tuners (I bought 10 and they charge me 12... it doesn't matter).
I send emails and I'm told it's my fault because I didn't specify that I need them complete.
Okay, they also send me the front part, so I change the mechanics and here comes the surprise: of 10 mechanics, 4 are gotoh and fit in the hole, 6 are anonymous and don't fit because they are too big and one of these six is broken!! I waited until I had everything to do the operation so I'm only realizing it now.
I've never had anything like this happen to me with stick ent. I waited more than a month and a half. I live in Italy and it's all a long process to order and ship... now I'll look here in my area hoping to find them in black. 120 dollars wasted.
I am disappointed

Have you looked for anything on Amazon?

https://www.amazon.it/s?k=piroli+neri+3 ... nb_sb_noss

In Canada, we usually get items
within a few days from ordering.
(Over $35 = free shipping)

Maybe the mixed set was because that was all they had?

I placed an order for a 12 string Grand over 2 years ago & whilst I put "all black" on the original order I needed to accept a change to "black w/gold" for the order confirmation. My recollectoin is that that was because they could no longer supply the "all black"?

I understand everything, but you ask me before by email and I accept or not. The fact remains that 6 keys do not enter the holes of the wood.

Send them back and ask for a refund?

Send them back and ask for a refund. Then go and see a luthier to get the right tuners.

No need to get a luthier involved. Everyone is different in terms of comfort with doing these things themselves, but this is not rocket science.

There's no need to go through Stick Enterprises either, unless I'm very much mistaken. The tuners appear to be off-the-shelf guitar tuners available from many sources, By far the hardest part is making sure that you've got the right ones, and that's easy... just measure the diameter and shaft length of the existing ones and get new ones to match.

I've also had very good luck working directly with component manufacturers. When I got my used Railboard, on two of the tuning machines the nylon washers that sit between the gear head and the tuning key were broken. A polite email to Hipshot resulted in them sending out replacement parts (plus a spare) for free.

Here's the point: Yes, Stick Ent. should definitely step up and make it right... that's just ordinary good customer service. But it's really easy to rectify the situation on your own if the desired outcome isn't forthcoming via that route.

you're absolutely right, I was wrong as I thought they were specific mechanics for the stick. when I measured them I saw that they have a diameter of 9.7 and can be found online. Stupid me for not looking first.
