Post Re: Calling all stations
So far, I've been able to gather some information and cross-reference it.

Fortunately, most tunings/gauges repeat themselves across different sets, so we only need information for ca. 21 different sets and not over 90... I've also taken the liberty of grouping sets together as the notes are the same, although the names are not. Moreover, I've come up with new names that could be interesting to us by using the existing sets but different string numbers.

The sets evolve throughout the years as SE optimizes, so there might be some small discrepancies between what you have seen here and there, or what you measured from your 1984 stick vs your brand-new railboard. Hats of to Emmett for putting all this time and effort continuously to always offer the best sound for our Sticks

Let me know what is wrong, what could be better, what you don't like, and especially if you have some of the missing information!

Big thanks to stickists Boaz, WerkSpace, and ixlramp for their contributions!

To avoid any confusion as to when was this compilation made, the table below will always have the most recent date. I hope it's easy to understand, it makes sense to me :)

I've done a bit of that in my adventures into alternative mirrored 4ths arrangements, and then on into uncrossed parallel 4ths arrangements. My last mirrored 4ths before I went uncrossed was 'Wide Mirrored 4ths' (a 9th between the sides - I wrote up how I got to that). In uncrossed parallel I'm currently pretty settled on what I call 'Octave Parallel 4ths'. :)

This is very cool!

So far I'm compiling for 4ths/5ths, but I'm also getting started on 4ths/4ths tuning, that will get a separate table :)

I have a set of spreadsheets that have similar information & layout to the table on SE tuning pages, except:

a) They include some 'standard' tunings that aren't in the SE table.

b) They include octave numbers.

If the forum will accept OpenOffice ods files, here they are in case they are of any interest or help.

A few custom tunings. Some are just 'thought experiments'!

Great! Is the B2-19 wound? The thinnest wound I've every seen is 20, but it wouldn't surprise me if Emmett managed to get even thinner wound strings from D'Addario!
