King Crimson was my first introduction into Tony Levin & his Chapman Stick.
Beat & Discipline never get old to me. Some of the most awesome music ever made & it wouldn't be the same w/o the haunting, flubbing & drippy texture added by the Stick.

I had to look it up. Is this the tune you are referring to?

Oooo. Another Stickist for my list. I hadn't see The Hungarian Stickist before. Thank you. :)

I like what he does, but notice that he plays on Teflon. Does your list also include Teflon Stickist? ;)

Yes, I spotted that too. Clearly a "Stick inspired" instrument rather than a Stick™. Whoever made it even added a "similar but not straight copy" metal badge to the headstock!
He has an interesting set of inlays - Stick style from headstock to fret 12, then guitar style on the melody side on the higher frets.

At least a couple of the existing entries push the definition. To an extent I do it by feel rather than buy pure hard logic. If someone only ever played, say, Warr then they are clearly not on the list, but if they have Stick in their history, or (as here) play Teflon but appear to genuinely acknowlege the Stick™ & Emmett as their aspiration (it may well be even harder to get hold of a Stick™ in Hundary?) then I'm probably not going to exclude.

In this video he seems to talk about the instrument's background and to reference Emmett & 'Free Hands'. I'd love to know what he actually says? Do we have any Hungarian/Magyar speakers on the forum?

It's all about the music. I keep a list of my own.
I download YouTube videos to my hard disk.

I dissect the tune with a video editor.

This makes learning the tune much easier.

I use Melodyne to transpose the notes.
