Post Re: Volume Control
Thanks guys, for all the replies!
So, I've ALWAYS used a volume pedal, for "mixing" in the room, on bass, so I have kept that philosophy in Stick Land. Two. Both sides. Before I had the Stick w/ PASV4. With this baby I've always used a Line 6 PODX3 so I have volume pedal(s) assignable. But as stated in my initial post I was never a "turn down the volume knob on the bass" guy, I wanted (and liked) the full-out tone of the fretless bass with roundwound strings that I shaped with my fingers.
So here I am 15 years with my Stick (!) and for the first time turning the volume knobs down on the PASV4 pickup and finding a noticeable tone roll-off at about "8". You know? Without a large volume reduction. Something I can compensate for with the volume pedal, If I have turned up the Master Volume on the POD.
I guess this is what the "good" guitarists have been doing all along.
I dunno.
Dumb bassist, with a Stick, playing bass, rhythm guitar, noodling...
Am I on to something?
Thoughts?
