It would be nice to see how old this is. Bought used.
Thanks,
Nelson

It should be stamped fairly prominently on the headstock.

On most Sticks, look at the top of the headstock, on front, as SteveS wrote.

On a Railboard look under the strings at the top of the fretboard.

If you tell us the number we may be able to give you some idea of age.

Or, if you contact SE and tell them the number they are likely to at least know when it was made, and possibly whereabouts it was first sent to.

Thanks, it's 4859 and it's nicely engraved. I'm a woodworker but I can't tell what the wood is.

Well, my #5826 & #5862 are both July 2009, so yours is a 1000 earlier than that.

I'm sure someone will be along to improve on that.

One or more pictures are always welcome & helpful, especially the front of the headstock, but one of the pickup block & bridge too is good, and a full length shot front & back is icing on the cake. :D

I'd love to see photos and try to guess year & wood.

But contact Jeff Mack at Stick Ent. - jeff@stick.com - or 1-818-884-2001 - they may tell you the whole history of that instrument.

Here you are. The open grain says not rosewood.
BTW should I replenish my velcro?

If it plays ok and you don’t hear any buzzing up towards the headstock. I’d leave it. I’ve used 3m Velcro from Home Depot to replace it myself. That worked fine

What Mike said. I just added a second strip to the melody side of one Stick to avoid mis-triggers when running through MIDI software. The self-adhesive stuff. Works fine.
