It's a pity there's not a bigger price differential on the Kindle version (when i just checked the Kindle version is 91% of the paperback price on both amazom.com & amazon.co.uk. To give another example, Stickman on Kindle is only 53% of the paperback price).

It is however currently available with Kindle Unlimited too, so as we have some spare slots I'll take that route.

If the Kindle price to buy had been more attractive I might have bought a copy, which would presumably be better for Michael?

Maybe if it's a really good read & the Kindle price comes down I might still buy a copy?

Michael was my first introduction to the Chapman Stick.
I met him in Lahaina, Maui. He was playing in the Banyan Tree park.

I bought his CDs and later attempted to buy his Chapman Stick on eBay. I won the bid but lost the sale because I was Canadian. I asked Michael about this and he didn't know why eBay did this.

I later bought my first Chapman Stick from a guy in Kingston, Ontario who called himself the Happy Chef. His brother from Vancouver had bought the Stick for him, but he didn't use it much and eventually sold it to me.

His intro on Amazon is intriguing. For us Cryptic Stickists. (Hey, great name for a band)

Has anyone else tried reading this on Kindle?

My Kindle copy seems to have some sort of formatting issue with spaces between words. Some words run into each other where there obviously ought to be spaces and words even overlap a little. The effect makes if very hard to read. I tried removing the download, then re-downloading, but it was just the same. I've never seen this before.

Does anyone else see the issue?

The book is not available yet.

When I saw this posted yesterday, I contacted Michael Kollwitz. I had hoped to buy a copy from him directly, mainly because I boycott amazon whenever possible.

He was surprised I knew about it and said he hasn't announced the book anywhere. He's currently in the last-minute correcting stage.

I wonder how Boaz found out about it... :)

It's amazing...many people have seen & heard Michael perform. He's a lot of people's first introduction to Stick.

When I immigrated north and moved to Saskatchewan 13 years ago, I learned that numerous locals spend much of their winter time in Arizona. Or as I like to say, "Rich Canadians go to Florida. Poor Canadians go to Arizona"...

The locals know me fairly well as I'm the only Stick player in the whole Province. After Michael moved to AZ, I can't count how many times people have come up to me after a performance at our local art fair and tell me, "We were in Arizona last winter and we saw this Stick player..."

"Michael Kollwitz" I'll say. I love naming Stick players based on geography. Of course, now there's a 50/50 chance it could be Steve Adelson...

Michael's one of the grandaddys of Stick for sure, having played since the 1970s. Other than Bob Culbertson and Emmett, the only other granddaddy I've ever met was Jeff Norem of Houston, TX. Jeff's played since 1976. He told me a funny story about how he ordered his first Stick and his dad says "You got ripped off", as it looks like only a guitar neck. I don't think Jeff is too well known outside of Houston. Last I saw him, he was mostly playing Alto Stick now days. Very articulate player.
