Post Keith Richards Guitar on "Can't You Hear Me Knockin'"?
Anyone got a Modeler Idea for that sound? For the Melody side. I have an ACTV2 (I think he's using a Tele but could be wrong). OR... I also have the PASV4.
Modeler sound just general - I have a PODX3 so I have VOX & Fender amps (probably what he used it was recorded at Muscle Shoals)
Don't give me Helix or HX Stomp I gotta work with what I got...
And thank you for all your posts on things Sticky!

Love the sexy Richards sound, definitely a Tele with some kind of Fender mixture. Been trying to get that sound for years. “Let it bleed “ has the industrial Stones grease popping. It was the analog years .

There's a video of the band doing CYHMKing w/ Keith getting "that sound" but I don't recall if you can see the amp. I've been trying to get "grungy-er" on the melody side (breaking out of the DBR "unified field theory") to write stuff. I'm even toying with the idea of abandoning DBR on the next string change to force the issue. I'm oozing into a lot of finger-Sticking and the low-end propensity may be fading.
Thanks for the reply.

I was able to achieve a similar tone with my PRS Custom 24.
(GR-55 into a Fender '65 Twin Reverb amp)

In my opinion the treble part of the StickUp is very close to the Tele-sound (I have an Alto with the StickUp, and it can sound very Fender-like). The ACTV-2 on my regular Stick is more balanced between bass and treble side, and it is way far from the Fender sound.

I have to admit that I never played the PASV-4 ...

Thanks for the reply - is it Meugel, or Michael? Which so you prefer?
As far as pickups, it's always fun to discuss and informative for everyone on this site. Right now I have the ACTV2 on my 12-string DBR and I love the fact it has a tone knob...I wish the PASV4 had one. Now that's a can of worms.
See, the PASV4 has a tone shaping knob that gives 4 frequency profiles that are really cool, and varied...BUT. It would be nice to "roll-off" that top end. But there's no room for a FOURTH knob on each side. I have thought about making a little adapter - stereo male plug to a box w/ tone pots and stereo female out - to give me that immediate roll-off at the instrument. I really love the tone control on the ACTV2. I have an Ironwood w/ the Stickup, and seriously it would be nice to have a tone pot on THAT too.
Yes, you set your sound up in whatever preamp device you are using, and it didn't need to be in Emmetts design intentions for the Stick, but it's just a thing, you know? An artifact of guitar/bass design that got lost because there's no BODY on the Stick to put all these "luxury" items. (hence the Warr guitar). But then you have a beast of an instrument and back and shoulder problems down the road. (Trey Gunn).
But I LOVE my Stick.
I'm gonna get that Keith sound.
On the Stick.
(we are of the determined type.)

If you had MIDI on one of your Sticks,
the GR55 guitar models are very impressive.

Up to you. Raised in Italy, Michele works also. Michael is the german version (actually I live in Vienna (Austria)) and Meugel is my nickname.

I had MIDI on one of my Sticks. Took it off. Someone here has the whole rig.

I had the GK 3 divided pickups, the GR55 and the Fender 65 twin reverb. Sold them all. Did like the electric piano and many other patches on the GR -55 but moved on to other ideas. No regrets. PRS custom ; excellent .
